Thought I’d have a fiddle with LBP2’s logic capability, drawing on some digital electronics experience – wanted to share my first digital circuitry…




That’s an 8 bit parallel access store, typically used for mainting values locally in registers in CPUs. The key is that you set the values you want, jump on the button, and they get ‘saved’. Awesome!

From there you can build integer units – crucially, all using a controlled store. Unlike the calculator level in LBP1, this allows you to create sequential instructions that operate on cycles – effectively a CPU, combined with indexable controlled store – aka ram. Plonk on top of that a grid of square lights…. aka pixels.

LBP2 adiado para 2011

Agora é oficial: LittleBigPlanet2 foi adiado para Janeiro de 2011. A Media Molecule já confirmou no respectivo sítio onde lamenta a decisão aos fãs que esperavam o jogo a tempo da colheita pré-natalícia.

De acordo com o comunicado, a produtora refere que: "nós estivemos a trabalhar como Ninjas do espaço plenos de poderes e quase lá chegámos, mas porque gostamos daquilo que fazemos, gostamos dos nossos amigos-sacks e acima de tudo gostamos dos nossos fãs, não podíamos deixar de entregar a melhor experiência imaginável".

"Nós sabemos que isto é uma notícia desagradável para todos os fãs de LBP e, acreditem, nós também estamos tristes. Nós somos uma equipa muito unida e temos orgulho no nosso trabalho, por isso, para aumentar a fasquia que alcançamos com o LBP original, um jogo que foi tão bem recebido por todos, chegamos à conclusão que seria melhor tirar mais algum tempo para entregar a experiência que os nossos fãs e comunidade merecem."

Apesar da má notícia, o estúdio revela que "irá encontrar uma forma para vos dar um gosto de LBP2 antes do lançamento, por isso fiquem atentos".

LBP 2 Goes gold!



European Release Date!

Over at Media Molecule, everyone’s been working harder than Santa’s elves, and I’m pleased to confirm that LittleBigPlanet 2 has now ‘gone gold’. The new game is 100% finished, and will be released on Wednesday 19th January 2011 across Europe, Thursday 20th January in Australia and New Zealand, and Friday 21st January in the UK and Ireland. Just four weeks more to wait…
